OF THE STATE OF NATIONAL SPATIAL DATA INFRASTRUCTURES
FOR GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION IN CENTRAL
AMERICA, SOUTH AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

"IGAC
and CIAT invite all countries in Central America,
South America and the Caribbean to participate in
the survey described at this page. We are trying to
create a center of documentation on the status of
NSDI in the Americas. The goal is that each country
will be able to learn from the experiences of other
countries. It is difficult to classify the initiatives
and to obtain the correct information. We hope you
will contribute your responses and comments to the
NSDI questionnaire and for your country or institution,
especially if the information that you review here
does not well represent your country. Thank you for
your time." |

survey is based on a questionnaire on the status of
the national infrastructures of spatial data developed
by Dr. Harlan J. Onsrud, Department of Spatial Information
Science and Engineering and National Center for Geographic
Information and Analysis, University of Maine. |

| This
survey is being directed at different national institutions
that are involved in the production or management
of geographical information, or environmental, agricultural
and statistical information that can be georeferenced.
If various institutions or individuals in a country
have different opinions on the survey questions, it
would be useful for each institution or individual
to complete a questionnaire separately. Also we would
be grateful to those who have participated in this
survey if they encourage other institutions involved
spatial or geographical information management to
complete the questionnaire. |
